The only team in Britain with higher credentials than Team England, the GB Elite is a small, elite-only team made up of the very best competitors on the British Isles.

Originally known as the GBMAA Elite and comprising of the best competitors from across the entire GB Martial Arts Association, the GB Elite has won every major national and international event they have entered, beating the likes of Team SWAT, Team Top Ten and Team Best Fighter.

Recently, the management of the team was passed from father to son as Master Page handed the reins to Team Captain, Michael “Venom” Page. Venom took to the promotion with his usual enthusiasm, announcing a number of changes from day one.
The new selection process for the GB Elite squad is a tough one, with every session invitation-only and that includes GBMAA Competitors Club members and even CITs and Instructors.

Those who make it onto the Elite squad don’t always make it onto the Elite Team itself and those who aren’t performing up to standard could soon find themselves being replaced.

Elite Team members now have to commit to at least three of the compulsory international events every year, and at least five of the national events.

Venom is pushing the team hard and the difference is already beginning to show, as most of Team England’s medal winners from last years World Championships were also GB Elite squad members. In fact, every member of the Elite squad who went to last years World Championships came back with at least one medal, many of them Gold.
